The Best Job in the Friggin Universe

I have finally been struck by the flu that has been floating around for the past 3 months, so my posting has been light. I am yet reminded of the effects of an all night drink-fest to my constitution. That being said, I had to share this - My parents just came back fr… Continue

Hunt for the Great White Wii

Something horrible happened to my wife and me last month. Something that most parents dread. My wife and I asked our son what he wanted for his birthday in April and he responded, “I want a Wii!”

Any normal parent would do the rational thing and just say “no”. However, being a geek family a request for a cool toy cannot be denied. I ventured out on my quest

The Geriatric World of Warcraft – Chapter 4: Greenal Loses Noob Status

Greenal, my 68 year old father, is now playing World of Warcraft for 12 hours per day. He is fully addicted and having the time of his life. Hell, he had the opportunity to do some work for extra cash driving a tour bus but he declined the offer. He told me, Continue

Champions Fan-Boy Children

I showed my kids, Geek-Daughter and Geek-Son, the Champions On-Line web site and they got very excited; so excited in fact that my son leapt from the couch while screaming his battle-cry, “Go Justice Beetle!” Why the reaction? First of all, like most children, they l… Continue

Philosopy of Game Design - Complexity

I have been designing my own board and role playing games for over 22 years and have noticed a change in my design philosophy which I think draws some parallels to computer gaming. When I first started off in game design I made very complex historical games; bursting with charts, tables, and minutia. These behemoth games took at least 12 hours of play time to complete and had sleep le… Continue

It wasn't until I saw the Member Map, that I noticed you lived in Santa Maria. I'm surprised someone lived close by. I live in Lompoc myself.

Hey man, well like you said, you want a MMO for the 360. Great news for you bro, there is already 2! I wasn't a great fan of Final Fantasy 11 (I think it's 11?), but I did get a lot of enjoyment for Phantasy Star Universe, which I picked up at GameStop for $20. So if you want to drop the $10 a month for PSU go for it, I thought it was worth it.

I don't know Eric but I'll look him up on the web.

Funny that you play TMBG for your daughter. I put them on my daughter's iPOD but I am not sure she listens.
