Once again, I play many games and end up back at World of Warcraft after a month of trying other MMO's. However, I have not been playing games as hard core as I used to this summer. I have been out and about and there are a ton of great movies coming back down the pipe.
What it amounted to was Lord of the Rings put me to sleep, and other games like Hellgate London, Titan Quest and Diablo 2 provided me with INSTANT GRATIFICATION. I wanted to get into LOTRO, but the combat was just too slow. When I logged back into WoW to see if the account still had time left on it, I was amazed at how fast and smooth it was. I got hooked ONCE MORE and ended up putting a whole level on my rogue. Also I didn't ever finish his tradeskills and I do want a high level enchanter. I hate to play WoW still, but the fact is I am just too comfortable there. After 4 years, it is still the best MMO out there.
Warhammer Online has ruined my MMO thirst simply because I want it to come out and I like the changes it offers. Now with Diablo 3 on the horizon, all other games look pointless. I know that my all time favorite game is coming out again in the next year or so. All I need to do is wait...and drool.
Until then, with the movies out this summer and a lot of turmoil in my private life, it is just time to relax and play games that are easy and polished and stable. I really want to sell this condo I am in, but as we all know the market sucks right now.
I went back to WoW and didn't miss a beat, my blood elf rogue went from level 42 to level 45 in two days and I actually liked the Midsummer Fire Festival. The torch throwing, tossing and catching is also great fun when you play drunk. Just thought I would throw that out there. My brother and I also had fun waiting nearby the Horde bonfires in stealth mode and ganking alliance players that would extinguish them. Apparently many low level noobies didn't know they would get flagged when they did that. Sucks to be them!
My little Barbarian in Diablo 2 is level 6, but I still have not finished Act One because I haven't had time. I am going to start up in Titan Quest also. Like Bildo I got the Direct2Drive deal on the digital download for 20 dollars. The game looks great on my widescreen monitor. I just wish it had more randomness to it.
I actually put a level on my blood elf paladin as well this weekend, who is now level 15. Why I did that I have no idea, but I saw that full bar of rested bonus and had to use it up. More later in the week but July looks to be a slow posting month compared to the amount of writing I did in June. Lets see how far I get in Diablo 2 and Titan Quest. I never actually finished the first act in Titan Quest, and I don't remember too much about Diablo 2's later acts. It should be fun.
"Wanted" was a pretty good movie, all the violence and gun fighting one could want in a summer movie. Next up will be "Hancock".
