Gax users, I'm proud to present the first Unofficial Gax Community Cast Interview! I sit down with Patrick Hamilton, Jeff Newcomb, and Brian Hoadley (who also happens to be user Agamemnon) of WarDog Studios about their first project, Force of Arms, a mech-based MMO reminiscent of Mechwarrior and (maybe) Gundam. Why interview them, you ask? Here's the short list of what started the pants party for me:
Game world is 4,000 km x 4,000 km at a 1:1 ratio
Player created mechs, outposts, cities, alliances, etc.
Player driven story arcs, including the (re)discovery of interstellar travel and terraforming
(As of now) Free game client- only pay a subscription fee
They're going for their vision- NOT millions of subscribers
Like what you hear? Be sure to read all about the game on www.forceofarms.com, where you can sign up on the forums to discuss the game, and maybe even submit fan art/fic/models that will be included in the release!
OK if you asked me what my top 3 wish list of MMOs I would play would be the it would be a Super Heroes MMO, Lord of the Rings MMO. Mech Warrior MMO (or giant stumpy mechs),
This game has not enter my excited about list along with War Champions and Jumpgate Evolution. I hope they cant make it happen and not disappoint this panda.
Very much DO want! I look forward to hearing more about this game. The developers sound very passionate about this game and I really like the sound clips scattered on the site that add to the lore.
Thanks for the feedback guys, and remember no elves, none of the time! :D We regularly update the site with new content, so keep checking back or have a go at our role play forum.
wtf is up with the voices? Why do they sound like chipmunks!??! SO ANNOYING.
Looking forward to the game...someone linked a video of this game a few days back and reminded me about it. Have been looking forward to this for a good while, cant wait. All other mech MMOs suck something awful, hopefully this will be fun!
Thanks for all the positive feedback everyone, not sure what happened with the voice during the interview, it did sound rather odd but who can be sure with Skype sometimes... ;) Patrick has crosslinked back to the site here to the interview, so you may see several new faces pop on.
I'm sorry some people are having quality issues with the interview. Unfortunately, I can't get it pinned down to one specific reason (except maybe the Gax Player). I can't replicate the problem myself, so troubleshooting it is difficult. I have asked Gary to look into it, and I hope we can get this worked out as soon as possible.
