Postcards from the edge, Needs More Cowbell Edition...

Today, I visited the other continent a little bit, starting in New Oxford.
Yeeeah. That Swedish Artist guy that has a Bink Video Ad that you see playing here and there?
He's weird. Like...beyond Artiste weird. Like...Yeah, that "Deer" above.

Needs. Moar. Cowbell!

Though the New Oxford Academy of Arts and Sciences is a beautiful, if empty, building.

All in all, New Oxford is too large, and too white, and too boring, so I headed over to Treasure Island.

NOT a Pirate Paradise.

...nor any kind of Paradise at all, for that matter... Though, I did find a terrifically cool home that was open to the public.

With...curiosities...inside. =)

One of the things that I'm really liking about Entropia is that the world is familiar, with things that you expect to see - landmasses, rivers, etc. - yet, the flora and fauna is at the same time familiar, yet very, very alien. Unlike when I was playing SWG, I very much DO get a feeling of "Toto, I don't think we're in Kansas anymore."

Enough with the Photojournalism... =)

I goofed around a bit with tailoring. Bought the materials off the Auctioneer, had a lot of failures, but created 4 basic white shirts. Decided it wasn't my thing...yet.

Unlike WoW, most raw materials go on the Auction House for VERY little more than you can vendor them for (typically less than 110% of Vendor price, then you have to factor in the AH fees.) This keeps the cost of an individual piece down, but it's VERY difficult to try to figure out what the actual cost of skilling up is, because you can get a "Partial Success", that returns materials to you unharmed, but also produces junk residue that you vend, and does NOT produce a saleable item.

No, not until I have a lot more money/PED to just throw at that system, thanks...

MINING, on the other hand... *big grin*

Between the trash that I picked up off the mobs that I had to kill to get to my mining claims, and selling the actual output to the Trade Terminal, I'm up 146.04 PED for the day, reducing my overall cash outlay (AKA "subscription fee") for the month to $35.53 for both my and Lauren's accounts. Not bad, not bad at all.

OK. 1am here, and work in the morning. *ugh*
