Why? For too long Fishing and Cooking, because of their Secondary Profession status, been looked over, seen as pointless and dull, all of which is true but let's just get on with it.. The aim of this guide is to show how easy it to master these joint professions. Like ‘Erbalism and Alchemy, Skinning and Leatherworking, Fishing, a gathering profession, and Cooking, a crafting profession, go hand in hand. Now, knowing this secret, you too can unlock the mystical powers of
Cooking and
Fishing!
The following assumptions were made:
That you, as in your character, are over level 35 (in order to do the Artisan quests, however some of the mobs in the following areas are 55+).
That you have learned all flight paths (Just walk, run, ride, if you don't).
That you know nothing of fishing.
That you have a spare 10 hours (max).

Adjust your settings:
Turn Auto-loot ON.
Turn Master Volume to 100% and Sound to Full.
Set up a ‘Fishbar’.

This makes the whole process easier and more efficient. Less concentration is needed with both a visual and sound indication, and you can recast in less than a second using a Hotkey for the fishing spell and Auto loot, meaning the mouse is only used for clicking on the lure.
Our adventure begins in the city of

(Materials: 3x Aquadynamic Fish Attractor = 2x Bronze Bar, 1x Coarse Blasting Powder, 1x Nightcrawler)
Now head off to
Elwynn Forest.

Teach yourself 'Recipe: Brilliant Smallfish', then fish until you get to 75 skill. Use a cooking fire to cook the fish. Cooking should be over 50 skill in order to continue.
Head back to Stormwind, learn Journeyman Cooking from Stephen Ryback and Journeyman Fishing from Arnold Leland.
Now head for
Ratchet, via Booty Bay. While in Booty Bay, pick up 'Expert Fishing - The Bass and You' from Old Man Heming.

Fish and cook Raw Rainbow Fin Albacore in Ratchet until your skill level for both fishing and cooking is over 100.
Then fly to
Stonetalon Peak.

Fish and cook Bristle Whisker Catfish until you have 150 skill in both Fishing and Cooking. Fly to Astranaar in
Ashenvale to get 'Expert Cookbook'. Cook remainer of Raw Bristle Whisker Catfish after learning Expert Cooking.

Hearthstone to Stormwind and learn the recipe for 'Goblin Deviled Clams' from Stephen Ryback. Fly to Wetlands. Kill the murlocs in the area shown to loot enough Thick-shelled Clams for enough Tangy Clam Meat to get to 175 cooking skill.

Fly to
Booty Bay.

This may take a while, but at 225 Fishing and Cooking skill, you get the quests for Artisan Skills. From Booty Bay fly to Ironforge and pick up the quest "I Know A Guy..." from
Daryl Riknussun at The Great Forge in Ironforge. Then continue onto Menethil Harbor to get the boat to Theramore, Dustwallow Marsh. Swim to
Nat Pagle to begin the Artisan Fishing Quest "Nat Pagle, Angler Extreme." The locations for fishing the Quest Items is shown.

The best order is Swamp of Sorrows > Stranglethorn Vale > Desolace > Feralas. Don't forget 'Recipe: Mightfish Steak' from Feathermoon Stronghold in Feralas.
Return to Nat once you have all the fish needed. Swim back to Theramore and fly to
Gadgetzan. Complete the Artisan Cooking quest.

Head to Steamwheedle Port. Buy 'Recipe: Spotted Yellowtail' from
Gikkix at the Port. Fish and cook your way to 275 skill. (A fishing skill point usually comes after every 5 fish.)

Fly to
Azshara. The 'X' is a good point as it is away from any patrolling mobs, but anywhere in the Bay Of Storms is good.

This is the frustrating part. A skill point is gained around every 10 catches, and a minimum level of 375 fishing (including lure) is required in order to catch successfully. There is also a high level of lost catches, but bear with them. You should be able to catch at least 25 Large Raw Mightfish in order to get 300 Cooking, and Fishing will come soon after.

Congratulations, you now are now ready to continue your cooking adventure into
Outlands with the aide of your Fishing Pole! Don't forget the
Stranglethorn Fishing Extravaganza every Sunday starting at 1pm. And you can fish sitting down!
