Listen here!
Episode 21 is here, and so the show is now allowed to drink despite the fact the hosts can
not. Tensions are currently strained due to this new change of events, and so they seek the aid of Jonathan from
Through the Aftermath and
The Online Gamer's Anthology as they review Funcom's Anarchy Online!

The Free Play Podcast publicly endorses
Grinding to Valhalla along with
Free MMO Gamer for their contributions to the MMO community. Check them out, or Andras
dies.
(Note: In the event Riknas has to kill him there are a series of clones
so that he may kill him again, and continue using him for future shows)
Last we left our heroes, Riknas had discovered the Runes of Magic.
Although he hoped to discover new found powers, he just found an okay
MMO. Andras' second lead in our heroes new goal to conquer the world,
are the sacred
Crowns of Power, made out of the greatest of shoe strings and other simple objects.

The Free Play Podcast officially supports the
Grinding to Valhalla project and
Free MMO Gamer. Go check them out, now! Or...Andras will
die.
In our last episode Riknas had gone off to center himself with the discussion of Shadowbane's closure. Soon after Andras has discovered Riknas' meditation spot and told him of a new mystical land for which they can find enlightenment. He also tells him of several sacred objects, that he calls the Runes of Magic, will you listen to their newfound wisdom?

The Free Play Podcast officially endorses Grinding to Valhalla , a project all about understanding the heads of the gaming community such as Brent and other Virginworlds Podcasters, including the Free Play Gamers for some reason...
Still dragging his heels to get to a fresh episode, Riknas has another
topic to discuss. The hardcore MMO, and can we make it free to play?
ShadowBane's Farewell also comes up to solidify the topic.

Episode 18.5 is here to compensate the resounding, "Meh" that was
episode 18. In this episode the news is covered, and the topic of
exploration in MMOs is covered, and how F2P MMOs can expand on it.
---------------
Runes
of Magic, still happening on April 24th, on the US Govinda server at
9PM EST. Be there, or the hosts won't like you anymore, and again they
bring back special guests for the show!
Welcome to episode 18 of the Free Play Podcast, this show is kicked off with Darren from the Virgin World's favorite,
Shut Up. We're Talking., and they talk about their oh-so-edgy experiences with
Maple Story by
Nexon. Later, the two co-hosts are hit hard by new listener mail talking about their choice of footwear, and Riknas' hair.
Hello again, it's a brand new show, breaking Riknas' promise of being
on time though. The Crew has fights over technical difficulties and who
would continue to edit. All issues however have been resolved, however
only two would survive and the Americans come through to talk about the
latest F2P nightmare,
BOTS, by
Acclaim! (We're linking things again!)
Also, still a shout out to the wonderful project we've been invited to take part of, check it out;
Grinding to Valhalla!
This episode brought to you by Andras editing! Losing Joe to something
referred to as "the real world", Andras and Riknas scour the internet
for his replacement, only to come to the conclusion no one indivdual
can do it, and so they had acquired Philip/Crovan and Stephen/Alsedrech
from the Warpath/Drone bay as they tackle a review being demanded since
day one; Guild Wars!
The Free Play Podcast releases yet another .5, but this time it's not just a solo show! Riknas and Joe come on with Karen from Shut Up We're Talking (Also on the Virgin Worlds Podcast collective) and talks to the crew about the shift in the MMO industry again, comparing the AAA pay to play MMOs and the growing audience of our listeners, the F2P Community.
Episode 15 is here. It is now in it's awkward puberty stage and flipped its parents the birdie, but change can be good, can't it? In this episode the Free Play Crew, Joe is actually happy, Andras is strangely disappointed, and Riknas has fluctuating sound quality as they review the smash hit that is Fusion Fall!
Episode 14 has now arrived and no one died after the release of the
13th episode!
This week we discuss the release of several upcoming games including
the wildly popular Runes of Magic, and for this weeks review the crew
talks about World of Kung Fu, and have a surprise game for this months
group night!
Episode 13 is a special episode in the hearts of our three heroes, but
it's not because they narrowly avoided a tragic death due to the
dangers of the mystical number "13". But wouldn't that be cool? Rather,
they have their first developer interview with the small Indie team
"Night Makers" who just released their first MMORPG, Apocalypse Board
Online. How'd it go? Riknas turns into an utter fan boy, and we forget
Joe exists. Want more details? Then why the heck haven't you pressed
play yet? Some fan you turned out to be.
If you like what you heard, or trust Free Play's sense of judgment (though it makes sense if you don't) head on over to
http://site.apocalypse-board.com/ to try out the Night Makers first work, and to
www.gaxonline.com to check out Joe's offensive blogs, read the old Free Play Blogs, or even to check out the other blogs on Gax!
Episode twelve has arrived, and this week the Free Play Crew has
brought along a real professional to help them out; Michael Zenke joins
them to discuss the news and one of his favorite F2P MMOs, Dream Of
Mirror Online, (More commonly known as DOMO).
The .5's aren't done yet, and this time Andras decides to take a crack
at it, talking a little about what he thinks of the current MMO
industry, and how the F2P industry might be the next source of
innovation for MMOs as a whole, and gives some more bits of information
on this weeks game night.
Episode 11 has arrived, and you didn't think we'd be on time after
episode ten, did you? Yea, we didn't either actually. Regardless,
Andras takes control and decides the game of the week, and tensions
between him and Joe rise. For once Riknas actually becomes the voice of
reason (Sort of), and there is discussion on two surprising news pieces.
Also, information on the scheduling of community nights is finally, well, finalized.
The Free Play Podcast has finally made it to double-digits! Starting the new year with a bang after the FPG group night, the crew has the infamous Caab from Gax Online for the show...who disappeared mysteriously during the review of this weeks game, Cronous. Also in the show, to keep up with all the cool podcasters, the Crew also discusses the top ten F2P MMOs of 2008, as well as the best of what the crew has covered accumulatively in the Free Play Podcast, and the Free Play Blog, enjoy! (Please?)
Two .5's in a row? That's right. Well, one's called .6, but that's not
the point. Normally we wouldn't do this, but we want to make it up to
you guys for missing what would be our christmas special, and with the
episode 10 celebration on the horizon, we want to build as much
attention for it as possible. In this episode, Riknas returns (Sorry)
and talks about what truly makes a F2P MMO, and why we classify MMOs
the way we do. We also fill in some final details on the game night,
with the ever discussed voice chat that was not properly covered in 9.5.
If you don't know what we're using for this night, and just want to know that, you should know that
1. We're using Skype
2. It's taking place in a conference call
3. You do indeed need a microphone to talk to us on it. Our telepathy has been having mixed results so far.
This will not be repeated any longer, and we will be going quite until episode 10.
Skype
contact information, the conference will be run by Riknas
(Power-Mongering jerk, isn't he?) under the skype name, Sahnik00. Send
a friend request to that name, and ask to be added to the call, we'll
take it from there. If Riknas does not directly respond, contact either
Krigare2 or Joe_Hart who will then berate Riknas for not paying
attention, and then we'll take it from there.
As a note, last minute changes may occur, and will be kept track of through our twitter account, FreePlayGamers.
Hope to see you there!
Welcome to yet another .5 episode. After a good deal of discussion the
FPG have realized that we still like having news in our shows, and so
they will stay in our normally numbered episodes. The .5's should from
now on be revolving around discussion topics covered by one or two of
us.
This time Joe takes the .5 baton as pennance for his absence in
several episodes, to talk to us about console MMOs (Yet for some reason
Riknas is still writing the show notes.)
------------------------------
At
the end we finally clarify the date of the FPG group night to be this
Friday (January 9th) at 9:30 PM EST, 8:30 PM CST, 7:30 PM MST, and 6:30
PM PST (Sorry that Joe said "5" PM PST). Sorry to the brits who have to
sign on during the brilliant time of 2AM. We'll have another time
directed towards you guys in the future!
For those looking for the game "Cronous" and are having trouble, check the following link;
http://cronous.aeriagames.com/. We are -not- playing Cronous by Neofun!
Skype information has also been confirmed, and we will have a
conference chat for all those able to use it. Please send a tell to
JoeH, Krigare2, or Sahnik00 for an invite to the skype chat!
Last, to contact us in-game, send a tell to "AndrasK" or "Riknas" on the Lapis server, chapter 1.
See you guys there!
The FPG have their ultimate fail in this show, by releasing their would
be christmas episode on January! Further proof that we don't live in a
perfect world. Coincidentally, neither is the game "Perfect World" by
Perfect World Entertainment. But just because it's not perfect doesn't
mean it's not worth it, does it? Prior to this a fantastically huge of
amount of news is discussed, and opinions are let loose.

Yet another on time episode, and the Free Play Crew is surprising
itself. However, that's not the only thing that's surprising, as Joe
has actually appeared for a second consecutive episode! Riknas also
wants to know, what do you want in the news? Because he hasn't a clue.
But that isn't the point of the show is it? In this nonsensical episode
the Free Play Crew finally cover a browser game on the podcast,
Adventure Quest Worlds! Here the Crew realizes that just because
something is a good deal though, doesn't mean it's worth paying for.
--
Not yet mentioned in the show, exclusively for the readers of the show
notes, the Crew is now preparing a celebration for the fast approaching
10th episode of the Free Play Podcast, where we review Aera Games
Entertainment's newest title, "Cronous". For this celebration we are
inviting our listeners to join us for our weekly group night,
previously occupied only by the Free Play Crew. Group Night is our
night of shenanigans where the crew comes together and keeping what's
left of our spirits intact, even in the face of terrible game design.
So now, you're probably thinking, "How do I partake, in this oh so
awesome and delightful event and a bag of chips (Cheetos not included.)
Well, all you need to do is send us an email at
FreePlayGamers@gmail.com.
Clever, aren't we? When sending this email, just let us know your ideal
days and times of day (Please include time zones), and we'll provide
more information during episode 9 to confirm the event. We hope to you
see you there!
